We are looking for a Control Systems Engineer who shares our vision and values to accelerate the deployment of our next-generation waste-to-energy tech.

We are developing modular solutions for industrial manufacturers to treat wastewater and waste onsite and maximise biogas generation to decarbonise their operations. You will be part of our project engineering team delivering our patented Electro-Methanogenic Reactors. You will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing the control systems, helping us accelerate delivery and our client impact.


We are seeking an individual with experience throughout the control software/systems lifecycle, from design through to testing, installation and configuration, operational troubleshooting, and documentation (FDS/FAT/SAT). You will love to innovate and optimise the design of our modular control systems, which are powered by our WASE intelligence platform. We have aspirations to enable the control system to integrate with our machine learning platform, which utilises our proprietary soft sensing and biosensing systems, providing new levels of control and automation that were previously not available.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Development of modular control systems that enable quick system design to reduce the time from order to design
  2. Design, testing and commissioning and troubleshooting of PLC, HMI and SCADA software for our modular plants
  3. Writing key control documentation, including FDS, FAT and SAT documents
  4. Experience managing subcontractors, ensuring the system meets design specifications and is installed on time and within budget
  5. Provide technical support on the PLC, SCADA and software to help customers, operators, site engineers and scientists
  6. Lead the onsite commissioning of the PLC & SCADA system with instrumentation setup and calibration

Skills and Traits:

  1. The role is for someone with an entrepreneurial mindset and a tendency for action where you are comfortable building on your existing knowledge on the job and making things happen.
  2. 5+ yrs experience working within the automation and controls industry – process, electrical
  3. Experience in control systems in industry
  4. Methodical individual with an eye for detail and an ability to execute.
  5. Ability to deal with pressure and meet tight deadlines and budgets.

Bonus Skills:

These are not essential please apply if you have no experience in this area.

  1. Experience working in water/wastewater treatment, anaerobic digestion, biogas or gas sector.
  2. Working with machine learning teams and software integration into industrial controls.
  3. Startup experience
  4. Worked with Mitsubishi hardware and software
  5. Coding of PLC, HMI and SCADA Software
  6. Experience with IoT and remote operation and knowledge of data security.
