We are looking for a HSEQ & Production Engineer to share our vision and grow our HSEQ documentation and assembly processes to make waste the fuel of the future. 

Holiday: 25 days plus bank holidays

As the HSEQ and Production Engineer you will have experience overseeing company HSEQ documentation ensuring the highest level of safety and quality. The individual will have HSEQ experience for project sites as well as production environments.  

You will have worked in assembly, manufacturing or production teams, working on cost reduction, manufacturing/assembly optimisation and supply chain cost reduction and resilience planning.  WASE exists to accelerate sustainable waste and energy innovation to protect the planet for future generations. We have created solutions to accelerate decentralised biogas generation and wastewater treatment that is being installed at customer sites in the UK and scaling up for global delivery.

Key Objectives

This role covers a broad range of the HSEQ and Production process of WASE as a company. Key Objectives of the role include:

  • Contributing to the Growth of the Electro-Methanogenic Reactor Assembly Process. This would be demonstrated through procurement, build time reductions and reject rates through QAQC processes.
  • Developing Trust in the team and building our HSEQ policy and procedures. This will be demonstrated through the development of Emergency Response Plans within WASE operations. Review of RAMS and SOP for WASE operations which include projects at customer sites, manufacturing and assembly facility, lab and office.
  • Innovating with the R&D Engineering in design for the manufacture of next Gen Reactor and Electrode module.
  • Actioning a supply chain review by working with our suppliers to increase the stability, robustness and Sustainability of our procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Review and development of all RAMS, SOPs and Permit To Work procedures, instructions and documentation.
  • Responsible for Corrective And Preventative Actions and root cause analysis.
  • Day to day support of Assembly to ensure timely delivery of customer expectations.
  • Support the R&D function with existing product development.
  • Supply chain development to meet customer needs
  • Involvement in cost down projects and procurement.
  • Develop product BOM’s, routings and work instructions.
  • Play a crucial role within the Operations team and support all members when required.

Skills and Traits:

  • Knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning systems including, Bill of Materials (BOM), Routings, Master data.
  • A good understanding of lean principles and the analysis of production processes (kaizen), has been party to lean projects of lean teams.
  • Understanding of New Product Introductions and gated processes.
  • Understanding of managing projects and project teams across multiple disciplines.
  • Able to compile shop floor process instructions and safe working procedures.
  • Able to work under their own initiative.
  • High standard of numeracy and literacy.
  • Ability & willingness to be flexible with working hours at short notice.
  • Communicating and presenting data effectively.
  • You will have an entrepreneurial mindset where you can learn on the job and work hard to ensure targets are hit.
  • Self-starter and solution orientated. Can define required goals and routes to attainment
