We have a 3-month fixed-term position for a Design/Mechanical Engineer to provide key support to the R&D of our Electro-Methanogenic Reactor. The position will involve mechanical design testing, design optimisation, prototype development, system assembly and manufacture.
Salary : £35,000 – 3 month fixed term contract
Start date: 19th August 2024
Location: Unit 1, City Business Park, Easton Road, Bristol BS5 0SP – due to the nature of the role, it will be in the office 5 days a week

The role will be working with our Engineering, Science and Assembly teams to do critical testing on our Electro-Methanogenic Reactors.
Key Responsibilities
- Mechanical and material testing of electrode modules/framework
- Design and construction of liquid/slurry flow testing rig to evaluate feed interaction with electrodes.
- Support the construction of electrode modules for a commercial unit
- Evaluation of electrode module framework optimisation strategy and design for manufacture.
- Support in the design and construction of lab-based testing rigs
- Support in lab reactor setup
Key Skills and Traits
- Design and build test rigs.
- Proactive individual who is comfortable with individual working and problem-solving.
- Experience with flow and pump testing.
- Enjoys hands-on building, prototyping and assembling.
