Our Vision

Is a world where we unlock the power of waste to fuel our future. Where waste will become the everyday sustainable source of water, energy and fertilisers enabling communities to flourish.

We develop accelerating wastewater and organic waste treatment technologies; unlocking the power of low strength waste streams to produce energy-rich biogas.

We specialise in the decentralised treatment of organic waste from food to sewage, converting it into sustainable energy, clean water, and fertilisers. Our modular solution SaniWASE uses a bio electro-chemical process accelerating the breakdown of organics converting them into methane. Our modularity allows easy scalability allowing us to provide circular waste management for small communities, industry, and municipalities.

Our focus is to validate the technology and business in the UK and then launch in Kenya. We aim to partner with local organisations operating within the waste treatment sector to accelerate community and industry access to wastewater treatment.

The Role 

We are looking for someone passionate about creating a social impact to lead our remote operational control system. The role is for a creative and methodical individual that will be instrumental in developing the second iteration of our control system. Your role will be crucial in allowing remote operation our ‘waste to energy’ solutions which will significantly improve people’s lives around the world. 

You will be leading the project development and work with contractors, computer scientists and biochemical engineers. The role will be responsible for developing and constructing a fully operational remote operating system for our onsite waste treatment systems within 6 months. We need to monitor biogas sensors and flow meters so that we can then accurately control the flow of water and recirculation through pumps. 

The project will also be working with contractors that are developing the electronic hardware and firmware of our power supply units for the electrode system and incorporating the units into your work. The data from the sensors will be sent via 4G mobile networks so that they can be operated globally, and issues can be identified quickly.

Key Responsibilities 

• Project management 

• Develop and implement test plans for digital control systems 

• Support, debug and modify existing digital control systems 

• Work effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve early (architectural) and late (lab, test & validation) issues 

• Ensure high reliability of the product under stress conditions and environments for extended periods 

• Develop standard and custom communication protocols for new systems 

• Both hardware and firmware development to test and validate operation on the bench 

• Some travel is expected 

Key Requirements 

• Bachelor’s/ Master’s degree in electronic/electrical/firmware engineering 

• 2 – 4 years of experience 

• 2+ years working with micro-controllers and control systems 

• Experienced of using electronic design and CAD tools, e.g. Eagle, TinkerCAD and SPICE simulation 

• Experienced in PCB design and PCB manufacturing 

• Experience working with electronics and firmware engineers and computer scientists 

• Experience leading projects and good time management 

• Experienced in the use of C/C++ 

• Experience and knowledge of network and serial data communications (e.g. MODbus, CAN, TCP/IP & RS232/485)

You will be directly working with the CTO/ founders and will be joining a team in the early years that experiencing rapid growth. You will have opportunities to lead a large team and our future strategy in the coming years. The role will require you to work in our office located in Park Royal/Acton – West London with some remote working when possible.
